Fresh colours abound for summer 2000. Black and white make an appearance as do two-tone designs such as the one that appears here; lilac, cerise, orange and turquoise are the other colours for the season.
There is an emphasis on mixing tops and bottoms, recognizing the customer's need for individuality—not the easiest object in a mass-produced line. H&M's designers have, instead, gone with complementary colours this year.
They have also gone with complementary designs: soft triangular tops can be worn with side-tie bottoms or what H&M calls its hipster cut brief.
