THE LATE 2000s seem to be the era of the celebrity chef, more so than Julia Child and Johnny and Fanny Cradock had ever envisaged. So when there’s a celebrity bash involving food to benefit the Food Bank of New York City, celebrity chefs themselves can encourage the press to visit. Add some of the world’s top tennis players, and the sponsorship of BNP Paribas and Rums of Puerto Rico, and it’s bound to get attention.

Held at W New York on August 27, Andy Roddick, celebrity chef Bethenney Frankel and the Top Chef all-stars headlined the event, the 10th annual Taste of Tennis.

Joining Roddick and Frankel were Tommy Haas, Billie Jean King, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and others, cooking alongside celebrity chef Bethenny Frankel, Carla Hall and Ariane Duarte from Bravo’s Top Chef, and Gotham Bar and Grill’s Alfred Portale. Hannah Storm of ESPN MCed the evening.

The event was produced by AYS Sports Marketing. •
