With Barbie’s 50th birthday, Volkswagen has created a life-size version of her New Beetle Cabriolet, in bright pink, pictured here with supermodel Heidi Klum.
The life-size pink Malibu Barbie New Beetle convertible made its début at Barbie’s Malibu Dream House exclusive birthday celebration, celebrating Mattel’s iconic doll’s 50th anniversary.
To get the right look, customization was done by ABD Racing Werks, Katzkin Leather and Interiors and FoamMolders.
The New Beetle features a white custom leather interior and convertible top, hand-stitched floor mats and pink quilted leather-lined door pockets and arm rests. Volkswagen says that even the dipstick is painted to resemble her favourite lipstick.
The New Beetle convertible is equipped with a motorized vanity in the trunk, rhinestone accents and vanity mirrors.
The convertible was displayed as the pink carpet was rolled out for the Barbie celebration at her real-life Malibu Dream House, a 3,500 ft² home in Malibu, Calif. decorated by famed Happy Chic interior designer Jonathan Adler.
