The International Car of the Year jury has voted the Volvo XC60 as its Truck of the Year. It’s a model we’ve also tested at Lucire, and we commend the jury’s choice. Safety features such as collision avoidance, and fairly good fuel economy from the diesel, impress us, too.
   There’s a misnomer over how ‘International’ the award is, however: it is a US scheme, dating back to 1997, and the nominees must be on sale Stateside. (The winner of the Car of the Year is the 2010 Ford Taurus, a car that is hardly seen outside North America.)
   Doug Speck, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, received the award at the Volvo display at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show.
