President Obama talks up the Chevrolet Volt

Filed under: Lucire, TV, environment, living, media, technology—Lucire staff/13.22

GM’s European arm had Erin O’Connor launch the Opel and Vauxhall Ampera in London. How do you beat that Stateside when it comes to giving the Chevrolet Volt, the car that the Ampera is based on, a publicity boost?
You get in the President of the United States.

President Obama broke ground on a new lithium ion battery cell plant in Holland, Michigan, and got his first look at the Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric hybrid car. The plant will manufacture battery cells for the new Volt, and, along with eight others, is expected to generate thousands of jobs.
