Twenty-Seven Names has been announced as the winner of the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship.
Anjali Stewart and Rachel Easting of Twenty-Seven Names will receive international freight to the value of NZ$10,000, plus coaching in freight and logistics, mentoring, and a membership subscription to Fashion Industry New Zealand.
The scholarship is now in its third year.
Perhaps the best praise came from one of their peers, acclaimed fashion designer Kate Sylvester.
‘I’ve followed the careers of the designers at Twenty-Seven Names with interest. They have a unique voice in the New Zealand fashion industry, and were the strongest designers who entered into the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship for 2010. Their overall strategy is focused, strong and the most exciting; they have loads of potential,’ she said in a release.
Alongside Sylvester, Erica Crawford (Kim Crawford Wines), Mapihi Opai (FINZ) and Linda Turner (DHL) judged.
The other finalists were Salasai and Blak Luxe.
