Gok’s Roadshow will première on Channel 4 on January 18, with a six-part series.
Stylist and author Gok Wan (whose autobiography, Through Thick and Thin [left], recently hit bookshelves) will ‘take over an entire town with his pop-up catwalk,’ says the production company, Remarkable Television, part of Endemol. ‘He’ll be treating the local community to mini-makeovers, fashion master classes and revealing those all important tricks of the trade to make them look and feel fabulous.’
Each week, a group of local ladies will receive a full makeover by Wan and appear on the catwalk.
Much like Wan’s earlier show, Gok’s Fashion Fix, Wan will go head-to-head with fashion buyer Brix Smith-Start, as Smith-Start locates high-street looks that Wan will have to rival with his budget choices. The town’s public decides on the winner.
Colette Foster serves as executive producer of the new series, while Donna McLaughlin is producer.
