We’ve already seen the headlines but here’s James Bond actor Daniel Craig, in drag for International Women’s Day. Dame Judi Dench, who plays his on-screen boss M, provides the narration.
The PSA highlights the professional inequalities faced by women in the first half. The second half discusses the lack of educational opportunities for and violence against women.
‘Every week, two women in the UK are killed by a current or former partner. So, are we equals? Until the answer is “Yes,” we must never stop asking,’ says Dame Judi’s voiceover.
Craig is silent through the clip.
Sam Taylor-Wood directed the one-minute-long PSA.
The day was first celebrated in 1911, and its name was changed from International Working Women’s Day in 1975.
