The Royal New Zealand Ballet has announced that Karen Walker has designed its costumes for its upcoming Stravinsky Selection.
The three-ballet Stravinsky Selection is a tribute to the work of Igor Stravinsky, and commences in Wellington on May 22. It heads to Auckland on May 25, Napier on May 31, and Invercargill on June 8.
Meanwhile, the organizers of the New Zealand Bridal Show have announced that Jane Yeh and Sera Lilly will be among the designers showing runway collections.
Sera Lilly will show her first bridal collection, and joins the likes of Liz Mitchell, Robyn Cliffe, John Zimmerman, Rosemary Smith, Vinka Design, Rositta Chong, La Shika, Alison Blain, Corina Snow, Yvonne Bennetti and Annie Bonza.
Ruben Perlotti and the Cymbeline sisters are also showing, with New Zealand promised the first glimpse of Perlotti’s new range, the Chryselephantine. The Cymbeline sisters will show items from their 2011 and 2012 collections.
Finally, acclaimed designer Akira Isogawa (above left) headlines the judging panel for the Emerging Designers’ Awards at ID Dunedin Fashion Week. He will also show some of his autumn–winter 2011–12 collection in Dunedin, on April 8 and 9.
