We’ve seen these images released last week from John John Denim, as modelled by WAG and this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Irina Shayk, reported elsewhere as part of the company’s spring–summer 2011 range.
We’ve checked with the company and, in fact, these are from its autumn–winter 2011 catalogue—but, of course, being Brazilian and in the southern hemisphere, it’s not hard to make that mistake.
An urban, ripped look is in from John John Denim, something we haven’t seen in a mainstream denim collection for a while.
The shoot took place in the Meatpacking District in New York with photographer Stuart Shining, and John John has more behind-the-scenes information on its website.
Meanwhile, for those reading our RSS feed, we have some special features on the main part of the Lucire site.
Travel editor Stanley Moss’s special feature on Sri Lanka is now online: a three-(web) page odyssey through the jewel of south Asia.
Morgan Davison has her picks of fashion books, complete with links with which you can order at Amazon; and publisher Jack Yan has two more entries in his car reviews, on the BMW X1 and a comparison between the BMW 3-series and Audi A4.
Our shopping pages have been tidied up, and a lot of dead links were taken out of our magazine reviews’ section.
No issue of Lucire is complete without our main topic of fashion. It’s a particularly bright one, with fashion editor Sopheak Seng giving his top picks for New Zealand jewellery, and Paris editor Lola Saab checking out the latest from Van Cleef & Arpels at la Place Vendôme, while also examining its history at the Cooper–Hewitt.
Joanna Mroczkowska reports from Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week, with beautiful catwalk photographs by Victor Puig—our lead story on our website.
