Porsche has announced a Turbo S version for its Panamera range, featuring a twin-turbo V8 developing 550 PS (405 kW or 542 hp).
   The four-door saloon reaches 100 km/h in 3·8 seconds and has a top speed of 307 km/h.
The new engine has 50 PS more than the standard Turbo, while torque increases from 700 to 750 Nm. With the overboost function, torque can increase to 800 Nm.
Porsche credits the extra performance to turbochargers with titanium–aluminium turbine wheels and revised engine control management.
Outwardly, the Panamera Turbo S has 20-inch Turbo II alloy wheels with an increased rear axle track width, side skirts, and an extending four-way rear spoiler.
While a combined fuel consumption figure of 24·6 mpg (Imperial) is claimed by Porsche, no carbon dioxide emissions’ numbers are cited.
The vehicle goes on sale in the UK in June, at £122,623. A tracking system is standard, as Porsche GB offers a complimentary course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone to customers.
