Britney Spears is back with a new music video, for ‘Till the World Ends’.
The video was shot in Los Angeles in March, and is set in a December 21, 2012 apocalypse. Ray Kay, who has worked on videos for Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, directs, and Brian Friedman, who has worked with Spears before, choreographs.
Spears fans will likely love it. The performer has had years when she’s been out of the current musical Zeitgeist—enough for us to write about how she could make a comeback in 2008—but we’re noticing the tide turning in her favour again.
She might have even followed some of the advice we had in our 2008 piece, with some recent frank interviews about creating her new number, and talking about enjoying her musical career. It’s not a bad comeback, as far as comebacks go.
In other music news, David Furnish, Sir Elton John’s partner, has told US media that their son, Zachary, has a godmother—none other than Lady Gaga.
