As reported yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld has launched the Chanel cruise 2011–12 collection on the French Riviera, at the Hôtel du Cap on the Cap d’Antibes.
The atmosphere was far more relaxed as media and celebs went to the outdoor show, free from the usual chaos of a fashion week.
Keeping it relaxed, Chanel served champagne and almonds as pencil skirt suits, swimsuits, ’40s-style pleated dresses, and bias-cut gowns came down the catwalk.
Celebrities attending included Vanessa Paradis, Clémence Poésy, Alexa Chung, Anna Mouglalis and Chanel ambassador Blake Lively.
The proceedings continued on into the night, with a dinner in honour of the cruise collection, with a number of stars from Lagerfeld’s 30-minute cruise collection film among the VIPs. Kristen McMenamy, Sébastien Jondeau, and Amanda Harlech joined Rachel Bilson, Marine Vacht, Poppy Delevingne, Laura Bailey, Caroline Bieber and Tang Wei, as well as Lively, Paradis, Poésy, Chung and Mouglalis.
