Kim Kardashian and X Factor dominate Glamour awards’ red-carpet chatter

Kim Kardashian at Glamour awards

Reality star Kim Kardashian proved to be the talked-about celebrity at the Glamour awards in London, with a figure-hugging strapless, floor-length black dress.
The newly engaged Kardashian, wearing her $2 million 20·5 ct engagement ring, says she will keep her maiden name. She intends to have a long discussion with her fiancé shortly to make the final plans for her wedding—and a TV-filmed one is not out of the question, Kardashian concedes.
Fearne Cotton (in Miu Miu), Katherine Jenkins, Eliza Doolittle, and Tulisa Contostavlos donned colourful red carpet dresses to break the grey mood that we had seen a great deal of during the last few months in the fashion biz.
And avoiding grey, but keeping their gowns more muted, were Rebecca Ferguson and Keri Hilson, in nude shades.
Jessie J wore Dolce & Gabbana, while the Saturdays opted for more muted tones, with Una Healy standing out in red.
With the UK in X Factor mode, host Dermot O’Leary talks about the show with the new panel, dishing the dirt on two of the judges—but there’s no confirmation if former judge Cheryl Cole might appear as a guest.
New judge Tulisa Contostavlos of N-Dubz says there have been tears on the show already—and that she received a good-luck note from Cole when she stepped into the role.
Winners at the awards were Davina McCall (Presenter of the Year), Sarah Burton (Designer of the Year), Jane Goldman (Filmmaker of the Year), Naomie Harris (Theatre Actress of the Year), Dannii Minogue (TV Personality of the Year), Ellie Goulding (Pandora Breakthrough of the Year), Dawn French (Writer of the Year), Jessica Ennis (Sportswoman of the Year), the Saturdays (Band of the Year), Victoria Beckham (Accessory Designer of the Year), Fearne Cotton (Radio Personality of the Year), Lenora Crichlow (TV Actress of the Year), Miranda Hart (Comedy Actress of the Year), Kim Kardashian (Entrepreneur of the Year), Adèle Adkins (UK Solo Artist of the Year), Gemma Arterton (Film Actress of the Year), Jessie J (Woman of Tomorrow), Rosie Huntington Whiteley (Editor’s Special Award), Garrett Hedlund (Man of the Year), and Stevie Nicks (Outstanding Contribution).
