Our latest Paris Fashion Week autumn–winter 2012–13 videos feature Giambattista Valli, Chloé and Pedro Lourenço, as well as a new highlight reel.
Giambattista Valli also took a geometric approach for autumn–winter 2012–13, with prints for dresses, tops and trousers. He also adopted plaid and a tweed look, and wasn’t afraid of injecting colour—red, usually complemented with black, being his favoured shade for the season. The ruffled hems and embellishments were largely absent this time around, but the collection looked comfortable and wearable.
Clare Waight Keller played it light and loose at Chloé. Long coats, pantaloon-style shorts, colourful knits and high-waisted trousers all contributed to a very relaxed silhouette, with the Chloé girl looking casual for autumn–winter. Waight Keller didn’t forget to keep it all very girly, with taffeta and lace, appealing directly to Chloé’s core market.
Pedro Lourenço, the youngest designer showing at Paris Fashion Week at age 21, showed mixed materials, using leather, PVC and silk. He used bold, geometric patterns, exaggerating the shoulders with his coats, and keeping his skirts tight against the body. The collection was inspired by a town-and-country theme, said Lourenço.
