Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård, Taylor Kitsch and Tadanobu Asano have been doing the rounds promoting the new movie Battleship—this time on board the USS George Washington at Yokosuka port near Tokyo. Director Peter Berg joined them.
Brooklyn Decker wore a Peter Pilotto skirt with a navy silk top. Rihanna, meanwhile, wore a figure-hugging black dress.
Kitsch stars as Lt Alex Hopper, a naval weapons’ officer on the USS John Paul Jones, while Skarsgård plays Hopper’s older brother, Stone, commanding officer of USS Sampson. Rihanna makes her film début as Petty Officer Second Class Cora Raikes, and Decker plays Sam Shane, Hopper’s fiancée and a physical therapist specializing in the rehabilitation of military combat veterans. Tadanobu Asano plays Capt Yugi Nagata, commanding officer of the Japanese destroyer Myoko and Hopper’s archrival, and Liam Neeson is Adm Shane, Commander of the Pacific Fleet.
Battleship is based on the board game, though aliens have been worked into the plot.
Peter Berg previously directed Hancock with Will Smith and has a number of TV credits to his name.
