Beauty round-up: Wella styling products, Chanel’s Vitalumière Aqua compact, and Garnier focuses on skin

April 7, 2012/12.01

Wella has introduced two styling products for the big-hair look that seems to be coming back for 2012: the Wella Professionals Flowing Form (NZ$27) is a new balm that gives flexible control and natural movement—just work it in to the mid-lengths and blow-dry. The Wella Professionals Bold Move (also NZ$27) is a new styling paste that lets one get the perfect look.

In the beauty department, Chanel has launched its Vitalumière Aqua compact, containing the company’s famous Vitalumière fluid. In this new form, the compact’s ingredients help give it a cream texture, formulated for normal to dry skin, making it feel fresh while giving a velvety make-up look. It aims to preserve the skin’s moisture, and gives a complexion that stays fresh for up to eight hours.

Garnier has numerous débutants for April in New Zealand: the Ultra-Lift SPF 30 Deep Wrinkle moisturizer (NZ$22·49), the Intensive 7 Days hand and body creams, and three new facial cleansers. However, we haven’t tested these ones yet at Lucire.
Garnier   The Ultra-Lift SPF 30 Deep Wrinkle moisturizer combines Pro-Retinol and Pro-Elastin to help lift deep wrinkles and boost skin’s bounce-back, claiming to reduce the length and depth of existing wrinkles while protecting skin from premature ageing.
The Intensive 7 Days range features hydrating agents to reinforce the skin’s protective barrier, with hand cream formulas in shea butter, mango and alœ vera; and a body cream with shea butter and mango oil formulations. The hand cream retails at NZ$6·49, and the body cream at NZ$10·49.

Finally, Garnier’s three facial cleansers—the Clean Detox Gentle Brightening Foam, Clean Detox Gentle Brightening Scrub and Clean Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Foam—retail at NZ$7·99 each. The Brightening Foam removes impurities, make-up and excess oil, while the Scrub boosts and exfoliates dull skin. The Cleansing Foam is designed for sensitive skin and is enriched with alœ vera and vitamin E.
