Simple and adaptable: Nespresso’s U suits all lifestyles

News

July 13, 2012/1.57

Nespresso’s U, its latest coffee machine, is what the company calls its ‘next-generation’ model.
The company has gone back to its roots, understanding that its principle lay in allowing anyone to create a perfect cup of espresso at home. U is designed to be simple to use, and its modular design allows users to customize it as they see fit, suiting their lifestyles.
U’s interface memorizes one’s favourite cup length, has pre-programmed Ristretto, Espresso and Lungo sizes, has a water tank that can slide around, and a cup support that fits long and short drinks.
Despite its simplicity, the Nespresso technology remains at the forefront: there’s a 25-second heat-up time, an immediate cut-off so it’s one of the cleanest machines, and a body that has 30 per cent recycled materials. It powers off after nine minutes of inactivity.
There are four colours (cream, black, grey and orange) to suit modern décors, with a retail price of NZ$399. It goes on sale from August 1 in the Nespresso boutique, online at www.nespresso.com, and from selected trade partners.

  1. It’s great to see that Nespresso have finally have released a replacement for the ageing Essenza range of machines.

Not long ago they changed things forever with the release of the great Nespresso Maestria and Gran Maestria range and now they appear to have massively upgraded the lower entry point models as well.

It’s great to see that this new machine is made from a fair bit of recycled components, well done Nespresso!
