They’re not quite the famous BMW Art Cars, but they come close: four of the New Gen design labels at New Zealand Fashion Week have created their own BMW X1 vehicles, using inspiration from their collections to decorate the SUVs.
Dmonic Intent, Silence Was, Daniel K and Arielle Mermin worked with BMW, Omnigraphics and Redline to achieve the effects.
BMW is playing a far bigger role in this year’s New Zealand Fashion Week. BMW New Zealand communications’ manager Ed Finn says, ‘BMW and the fashion industry share a passion for innovation and cutting-edge design, creating the perfect fit for a partnership between BMW and NZFW. BMW is proud to be the global brand behind our next generation of up and coming fashion designers.’
One of the labels will get to keep their vehicle for a month. A panel of industry specialists (including Clair Sullivan from the Denizen, Tina Moore from Remix and Dan Gosling from Stolen Girlfriends’ Club) will choose their favourite.
