Previewed in Lucire in May,
Bendon and Elle Macpherson Intimates have now released a sure-hit item:
lingerie in that classical material, Chantilly lace
SHEER
LACE background gently engraved with filigree-like tracings, the finest
of bindings and the tiniest of gold jewellery touchesthe description
that Bendon uses to describe the most luxurious and feminine line of the
Elle Macpherson Intimates range to date. It's helped, too, by the presence
of "The Body" herself in modelling the line.
The new Straight Laced line, available in Cocktail,
Riveria (right) and Daiquiri (below), comprises a balconet-style
contour bra, a V-plunge underwire bra, sensual tanga briefs, a G-string
and the feature item, a culotte.
Worn low on the hip, the culotte is a sexy, sheer item
with intricate detailingits a lot finer than photographs of
the material suggest.
The bra is available in A-, B- and C-cup fittings, and
the V-plunge bra is offered from B to DD.
Chantilly lace originated in Chantilly, France, in the
seventeenth century. Production was revived after the French Revolution
by Napoléon, who decreed that Chantilly was one of only two laces
to be worn at court.
Elle Macpherson Intimates incorporates lace filigrees
in a modern fabric in 90 per cent Tactel nylon and 10 per cent Elastene.
The summer 2001 lines from Elle Macpherson Intimates are
based around the concepts of love and romance.
New
Zealand prices range from NZ$29·95 to NZ$49·95.
This fourth quarter is proving to be successful for Elle
Macpherson Intimates, with its entry into the UK market.
Selling at Fig Leaves,
which has an ecommerce site, downloadable graphics and Elle Macpherson screensavers,
the label has finally gone further than its Australasian roots, as
predicted in Lucire last December.
The UK market-place entry has received press around the
world, including Brazil (at celebrity site Morango),
while supermodel-turned-businesswoman and mother Macpherson was interviewed
in early September in The Daily
Telegraph.
