Similar reasons had drawn Panos to Gudmundsson’s immediate predecessor, Janina Frostell, Finland’s “queen of fashion” who had represented the label for over two years (and who appears in the present Panos Emporio catalogue).
   ‘Janina … was a very [complete, formidable] woman. She could be compared to Artemis or Afroditi. She was pure and authentic, with a very strong personality.’
   Prior to that, former Baywatch star Traci Bingham ‘had something which made me crazy. I do not know what it was.’ Eventually, after working with Bingham, Panos concluded that it was again character.
   ‘These two women had a common thing. Their eyes could say that they loved what I did and my philosophy of living. They were very different from each other but from the same world. [Like] the world of Panos: [a sense of] purity, simplicity, pathos, sensuality, creativity, personality and joy.’
