Panos Emporio launches Alaghí, aimed at a more mature market as the label diversifies into new demographics, writes Jack Yan

Initial capWO THOUSAND AND FOUR is a year of growth for the Panos Emporio label in Sweden. Earlier this year, Panos débuted Unlimited Love, a youth-orientated range with a powerful message about love and humanity that goes beyond marketing hype.
When Lucire met with designer Panos during the planning stages of the new ranges, it was clear that he feels strongly about the messages of his swimwear.
His latest range, Alaghí by Panos, is aimed at a more premium, mature market, a further sign of Panos Emporio’s growth beyond its traditional, youthful market. Named for the Greek word for change, Alaghí aims to ‘bring forward the beauty in a woman—but always keeps in mind that its source is [her] personality and, thus, timeless,’ said Panos.
With typical passion, he explained, ‘Alaghí is the raison d’être behind Alaghí by Panos. It is important to remember that we can always accomplish change in our worlds, adding to our sense of passion, sensuality, presence and lust for life. We owe it to ourselves to do so.’
Signalling its higher aspirations, the Alaghí by Panos collection has specific details like shirring, shiny buckles and decorative belts, giving every item an exclusive look. With clean-finished edges and extra-soft elastic bands, the pieces are comfortable and have a good fit. There is added choice thanks to different cup sizes and a ‘Mix & Match’ programme made up from a large selection of styles.
‘After 15 years as a designer, the woman is still my strongest source of inspiration,’ said Panos. ‘This is why I want you to see Alaghí by Panos as a tribute to the woman—the most beautiful of all creatures, one which fills me with humility and energy.’
In conclusion, he said, ‘A wonderful aspect of life is no matter how many roads you’ve walked, there are always infinitely many more you’ve never tried.’ •
