For a finalé, guests moved into the main
room for a delicious gourmet dinner, and were also treated to a
series of riveting performances, each tailored to represent the
different Silhouette brands. The Street Beats paid tribute to Adidas
by giving an exciting drum performance à la Stomp,
using a snowboard, mountain bike and buckets as instruments. Then
the Imago acrobats returned once more to wow the crowd again by
performing an incredible strength and balance act that had guests
gasping in astonishment. Finally, to reflect the timeless beauty
and elegance of Daniel Swarovski Paris crystal eyewear, an elegant
boléro ballet was performed by Broadway dancers Arte Phillips
and Kristine Bendul.
In between the performances, guests previewed
up-and-coming products, strolled along the ‘Wall of Frame’—Silhouette’s
display of collectible eyewear from their 40-year history, had their
pictures taken in the Silhouette ‘studio’, met and received autographs
from NASA’s Col McArthur, and of course,
tore up the dance floor for the remainder of the night.
Seeing that there is never a better time like
the present, Mr Schmied also used that opportunity to the addition
of the Titan Minimal Art Nylor, a stunning new addition to the universe
of the Titan Minimal Art product line. The Titan Minimal Art collection
that Silhouette released in 1998 revolutionized fine eyewear engineering
with its perfectly designed rimless, screwless and hingeless frame.
A success form day one, this collection continued to expand with
the 2003 addition of Titan Minimal Art Full Rim and now for 2004
with the Titan Minimal Art Nylor, a beautifully designed semi-rimless
collection.
The Nylor comes with the signature lightweight
and modern lines hint at the magnificence of its siblings, Titan
Minimal Art (rimless) and Titan Minimal Art Full Rim. The striking
presence of material wrapped around the top of the modern new lens
shapes takes note from the dramatic look of Full Rim, and the delicate
appearance of the TMA Nylor substructure
alludes to the suspended affect of the rimless collection. The combination
creates a spectacular addition to the Silhouette family.
Titan Nylor comes in eight original models crafted
in beta-titanium. There are two shapes for women, a soft butterfly
that comes in both Tuscany Brown and in Ruthenium; and an edgy cat
eye offered in both Sunset Red and Matte Gold. For men, the collection
has two shapes as well, a sleek urban rectangle offered in Maxwell
Silver and in Classic Brown as well as a classic rounded square
beautifully finished in both Paradise Chocolate and Shiny Gold.
Clip-ons are available for each model and the collection comes in
an attractive streamline kitbox, perfect for display.•
