Salvatore Ferragamos collection (right)
was all about rich colours and patterns. Silky purples, reds, pinks,
blues and greens complemented the bold animalistic, tropical print.
These flawless outfits in form- fitting silhouettes would be perfect
for a glorious party by the beach.
CNC Costume National has
kept the colour and pattern very simple for its springsummer
2012 collection, predominately featuring jade, emerald, peacock
and mint with an occasional relief of yellow, tan or pink. The colours
featured geometric statements contrasting against an otherwise neutral
palette. Stripes and checks were printed on opaque silk and chiffon,
giving the collection a softer æsthetic. The overall collection
had a structured and straight while also feminine tone.
Frankie Morellos collection was a true story of
Italy. Full of adventure, exploration and souvenirs, this bright
and bouncy collection reflected the essence of Italy from a travelling
perspective. The jackets are cute; there are cropped fur and leather,
short flared skirts, and digitally printed shirts and dresses. The
styling finished off the collection brilliantly with camera necklaces,
backpacks, visors and short tights to give an overall effect of
a cute tourist.
Rocco Barocco used pattern and fabric to bring the movement
of the sea floor to life. Chiffon pants and satin swirling
patterns created the illusion of water as the models danced down
the runway. Black, white and cream were key features with hints
of bright pink, yellow and green. There is a paisley motif that
transfers from pattern to jewelled featurea brilliant glamorous
touch. The silhouette is very feminine, gathering out from the waist.
Finally, Versace (left) brings the iconic sea
creature motifs in a pastel and studded fashion. Mini-dresses and
strapless bras feature with lilac seashells, seahorses and starfish
stamped across the former. The show ended with a flowing, feminine
A dress reflecting a studded treasure chest. The show represented
the treasures of the ocean.
