New York Fashion Week was back in full throttle in September. While clothes, colours, material and accessories are part of the much-awaited events in and around the spotlight, numerous high-end products are included in the mix. The GBK and Sparkling Hill Luxury Style Lounge elegantly kicked off New York Fashion Week at the Empire Hotel. The much-awaited time of year reveals the peak of luxury, beautifully presented at the lounge. Guests were keen on getting a close sneak peek on fabulous gourmet products, make-up lines and fashionable getaways.

The two-day event, sponsored by Sparkling Hill Resort, provided a tasteful setting to reflect the opulence. The Sparkling Hill Resort, which integrates Swarovski crystals in the resort’s architecture, is situated in Canada. Other than the alluring portraits of the resort’s surrounding atmosphere, a number of products stood out.

Guests could choose to quench their thirst with the delicate taste of Viva Diva Wines by Christina Milian. The zesty Moscato company added a dab of refreshing fruity flavour to the delicately tangy freshness in a bottle.

D’Mademoiselle presented its pure mineral and skin care products that were sheer to the eye and easy on sensitive skin. D’Mademoiselle is typically renowned for its make-up that allows a woman to feel naturally beautiful while keeping the skin intact. It provides a feel of haute luxury for the face whether the wearer chooses a dab of colour for her lips or a flirtatious eye shadow.

Lashem provides women with an extra boost they need to show off a healthy glow with its selection of skin care products and eye make-up. For a more emphasized feature, Lashem also offers lash and brow enhancing serums that allow lashes to look longer and eyebrows fuller. Lashem is a supporter of the Look Good Feel Good programme, which includes professionals who teach women beauty techniques as they overcome the aftermath caused by cancer, inducing a sense of self-confidence.

While still focusing on natural skin care products, EcoGenics presented its Active Botanical Skin Care line. The founder of the company, Ann McDonnell, meticulously elaborated upon such products solely dedicated to the rejuvenation of the skin, permitting the skin to radiate whether in the sun or hidden in the depths of the shadowy moonlight. McDonnell understands how every skin type is different, so she formulated a ‘Personal Skin Care Profile’, which permits the wearer to answer seven questions according to the appearance of their skin. When the final results are revealed, they can choose the correct treatment to enhance a sexy, shimmering appeal.

The natural ingredients are meant to provide a healthy looking complexion. EcoGenics was the recipient of the Award for Best Skin Care Products in North America by Taste TV in 2012 and 2013.

Lulu Avenue presented its pieces of fashion jewellery that included colours fit to match numerous tastes and outfits. Jewellery is not the only form of accessory worn to reflect a chic self; pens are also a wearer’s fashion statement. Pilot was back to present its stylish pens that are convenient, comfortable to the touch and stylish to the look. It reminds us to what extent writing is a fashionable component, whether one chooses to write with the stylish G2 Fashion FriXion Clicker erasable pen or Acroball Pure White pen.

Rivé introduced guests to its limited-edition Patricia Field-designed piece that includes colours, stylish designs and a fun, sleek effect to take the act of simply drinking water to a whole new level. Although the bottles are stylish, they are also comfortable to hold, each piece designed in a sleek, light and easy-to-use manner.

The fashionable Field also hosted an event the day before the lounge opened, benefiting the LIM Fashion Education Foundation. The non-for profit organization, founded in 1977, is this year’s chosen charity beneficiary. LIM serves to strengthen educational resources and provide students with the financial backing they need in order to pursue their goal in the field of fashion successfully. For the past three decades, the foundation has already awarded $1 million in scholarships to students. The foundation supports worthy students as they attain an education at LIM College, situated in Manhattan and recognized as an educational place highly committed to ‘the business of fashion.’

Year after year there is something to look forward to at the annual GBK Celebrity Style Lounge, providing attendees with the opportunity to be on track with a selection of classy products and stylish adventures while supporting an important cause. •
