Most of us are all too familiar with the capriciousness of modern beauty trends. Yet, some current movements gaining momentum look inward and query the very definition of beauty. While we mixed, mingled, and indulged in some skincare treats, we also gained invaluable wisdom about self-care that goes beyond vanity to mend the mind, body, and the planet.

The itinerary

First stop, the AKA West Hollywood for an enlightening and tasty brunch with Province Apothecary and Xicama. Held at the rooftop penthouse with poolside lounge chairs and unobstructed city views, guests savoured guilt-free desserts and vitamin-infused mid-morning cocktails featuring Xicamix. Founder of Xicama and holistic nutritionist Mona Sharma shared the health-boosting properties of jicama and why the nutrient-packed root veggie is a key ingredient in holistic wellness from keto to paleo and beyond.

Next up, the power of mindfulness and treating skin with an extra dose of TLC. Formulated with wild-harvested botanicals, reps from Canada’s award-winning Province Apothecary demonstrated detoxifying dry-brushing techniques and the skin firming benefits of their dual-action jade facial roller.
