HE summer's swimwear shows sporty and silver detailing, according to Margareta van den Bosch of Hennes & Mauritz. As worn by Mexican actress Salma Hayek (Theresa, Desperado, Studio 54), the latest lines have strong colours such as orange, cerise and various shades of blue. For the more discreet, there are grey, white and red tones.
   Features for the northern summer in '99 are bandeaus, bikini tops with concealed underwiring and triangular bikini tops with padded cups. Most tops being offered in the range have adjustable shoulder straps. Clasps and chains in silver are a must, and can be seen both on tops and bottoms.
   Bikinis and swimming costumes can also be teamed with sarongs in matching patterns and colours. For the more sporty, L.O.G.G. Sport has swimwear featuring details such as drawstrings and edging in contrasting colours. An innovation this season in H&M's 12 European markets is that women will be able to pick and mix their own tops and bottoms to be sure of getting the right size.
   Swedish-born Mikael Jansson, whose first book of photographs appears in June, was responsible for the shoot on the island of St Bart in the West Indies.
