Many regard former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, 36, as the most beautiful woman in the world. She is certainly a positive, modern and relevant symbol of India.
As mentioned yesterday, Giorgio Armani Privé supplied her with her Festival de Cannes dress for the event’s second day. Rai wore a black evening dress with layered embroidery in lacquered black jet beads and multi-coloured crystals at the bust.
She accessorized the gown with a black Ferragamo satin clutch.
Rai has been a fixture at Cannes since 2002, and is at Cannes for Mani Ratnam’s Ravan, based on the ancient Sanskrit epic, Ramayana. She co-stars with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.
The film will début on May 17 and is slated for a June release.
