New Zealand’s only Miss Universe, Lorraine Downes (above), is partnering with Living Nature to promote natural skin care solutions, it was announced yesterday.
Downes begins an Authentic Beauty Tour commencing in Wellington on November 23, continuing to Christchurch and Auckland, before concluding in Hamilton on December 1.
Meanwhile, New Zealand TV host Jeanette Thomas (left) is fronting a campaign for Firestone, selling pink caps for tyres, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. As of the 27th ult., 68,000 of the caps had been sold. The goal is to sell 100,000.
Also connected to the Lucire family is Dr Nimita Limaye, who at 43 has just been elected global chair of the Society of Clincal Data Management. She became the first Asian, the first woman and among the youngest ever to hold this position, which will help global health care. We congratulate Dr Limaye on her unanimous election. It is a recognition of the growing importance of India, with clinical trials in the country valued by McKinsey & Co. at up to US$1,500 million—four years ago, the industry was valued at US$140 million.
