Central St Martin’s College graduates William Hendry and Tamara Elliot have created two concept designer bags for the Alfa Romeo MiTo—Lucire’s Car to Be Seen in 2009—to help celebrate the company’s centenary.
Fifteen graduates submitted sketches for the project, which a panel of experts judged. Alfa Romeo is considering producing a limited run of the winning designs.
Hendry says his design is a modern interpretation of vintage luggage. Elliot, meanwhile, says her design reflects Alfa Romeo’s styling pedigree, ‘inspired by classic garment and boot bags,’ she says. ‘I developed these ideas into a bag that changes shape and function to be versatile enough to use in every situation.’
The story of the Alfa bags is online at www.alfaromeo.co.uk/centenarybags.
