Changing the world of fashion one sequin at a time, Los Angeles-based designer Michael Kuluva is making his way to New York Fashion Week for his début this September. His fashion brand, Tumbler & Tipsy, carries its iconic pop look with a colourful sequin style that makes all fashionistas dazzle in a glamorous nightlife and girly pop style.
Tumbler & Tipsy’s brand is highly anticipated, making a loud buzz among other emerging ones débuting in NYC. Kuluva is teaming up with Ubisoft, behind the world’s number-one dance game franchise, Just Dance, creating and showcasing an exclusive collection inspired by Just Dance 4, scheduled to release on October 9. As a former US professional figure-skater, Kuluva interprets his artistry into the fashion, and brings his pop-icon status to a whole new level, creating a happy marriage of fashion and pop culture.
Kuluva’s professional athlete background fits in the show’s VIP guests list, as US women’s soccer sensation and gold medallist Alex Morgan will be a runway model in his show. Also a model and Kim Kardashian’s younger sister, Kendall Jenner, will be stealing attention as she walks down the sequin runway.
The Tumbler & Tipsy and Just Dance collaboration runway show is part of Style 360, brought to us by Elle US. Style 360 is the fashion event happening during New York Fashion Week which aims to bring together some of the best fashion scene, music, and Manhattan nightlife for fashion-forward fans and industry insiders. While some of the big-name brands, like BebeBlack, are listed to be showcasing in this event, others add their names to kick it up a notch to the level of the world’s most exciting fashion cities, like Abbey Dawn by singer–songwriter Avril Lavigne, and SXE Fitness by MTV’s Jersey Shore star, Samantha ‘Sammi Sweetheart’ Giancola.
Tumbler & Tipsy is already sold in fashion-forward cities like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Sydney, but the brand will be much more widely recognized after its big fashion week début.
Tumbler & Tipsy by Michael Kuluva will show at the Metropolitan Pavilion on September 11 at 8 p.m.—Yuka Murai, YM Biz & Media
