Presented by Gucci, the fundraiser saw creative director Sabato de Sarno showcase his second eveningwear collection, commemorating the fashion house’s 13 years of sponsoring the event. The collection comprised twelve looks for women and four for men.
The gala raised a record US$6·4 million.
Philanthropist Bryan Stevenson introduced Leigh, while Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour introduced Luhrmann, a long-time friend and collaborator. Luhrmann dedicated the honour to his wife and creative partner, Catherine Martin.
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan performed live at the event.
