Harvey Nichols has presented Tim Burton-themed Christmas window displays in partnership with the Design Museum exhibition The World of Tim Burton.
The central installation at its Knightsbridge store features five sculptures from Burton’s private collection from The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories, while the remaining windows carry on a Burtonesque theme, using his signature motifs and black-and-white palette, lit with a dramatic red.
Janet Wardley, head of visual display at Harvey Nichols, noted, ‘Silhouettes of trees frame both the interior and exterior, creating a captivating fantasy forest. Inside, specially commissioned crystal and metal trees are adorned with Harvey Nichols’ most coveted gifts, while mannequins with branch-like headpieces showcase this season’s finest party wear.’
It ties in to a wider Christmas campaign by the luxury retailer, including a themed Christmas afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Bristol, and OXO Tower Restaurant; and five tequila-based cocktails in collaboration with Patrón Tequila at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, Beauty Bazaar Liverpool, and OXO Tower Restaurant. Burton’s Robot Boy character appears in animations surrounded by Harvey Nichols gifts and goodies in a CGI video, shown at its locations and online.
At Knightsbridge, a supersized Advent calendar will be unveiled on December 1, giving Rewards members a chance to win prizes from Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Charlotte Tilbury, Kate Somerville and others, running through Christmas Eve.
