Launched earlier this month, H&M’s collaboration with Polish designer Magda Butrym is on retail sale now.
It marks both Magda Butrym’s 10th anniversary, and 21 years of Hennes & Mauritz’s designer collaborations, which began with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004. It is the Swedish retail giant’s first collaboration with a Polish designer.
The collection comprises womenswear, jewellery and accessories, and is now available on hm.com and at select stores. It highlights Butrym’s heritage, a celebration of femininity, and romance with a Slavic style. Her most iconic designs are revisited in the collection, including delicate dresses with petals and blooming flowers, oversized coats and jackets, and crochet lace dresses and gowns. There are strong shoulder detail, and rose jacquard lining, headscarves, even a retro red-on-black rose print. Flowers continue on to the accessories, including sandals with flowers at the heels and floral earrings in silver crystal.
‘I really see this collection as a chance to invite people into our world—and to celebrate femininity, and the flower. Each piece brings its own sense of Slavic romance, while paying homage to the history of our brand,’ said Butrym.
The rose is the collection’s central motif, and is a symbol of womanhood for the designer, being soft and confident, delicate and independent, and striking and ever-growing.
