Korean-owned Fila has launched its Tornado shoes that are claimed to be light, breathable, and comfortable, blending the needs of wearers who wear them to commute or to travel. The æsthetic is one of ‘urban outdoor’, with the theme of ‘freely chasing the wind’.
The design inspiration comes from natural landforms that remain after a tornado, such as weathered rocks. The sole has rock-like textures and the design hints at a tornado swelling; the top part of the shoe has embroidery simulating wind marks.
The insole helps disperse pressure on the sole of one’s feet, giving more energy with each step, while the mid-sole has Fila Piumax light comfort technology to reduce weight and, consequently, wearer fatigue.
The shoes launched on July 3 in China on Fila’s Wechat, and at its online and offline retailers.
