La Prairie will launch its Pure Gold Revitalizing Essence, created to replenish density, nourishment, comfort and light, globally on September 1. With the decline of œstrogen, especially during menopause, there can be a loss of collagen, dehydration, thinning, dullness, and a weakened skin barrier. Revitalizing Essence aims to support the skin through visible signs of hormonal damage, not only restoring glow but comforting the skin. The formulation is lightweight, nourishing, and soothing, and La Prairie expects it will improve the skin’s plumpness, elasticity and luminosity. It also has a refined scent of green leaves, florals, and white musks.
The principal ingredients are La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, Gold & Peptide Meno Complex, and time-released Glabridin, designed to stimulate collagen production, strengthen the skin, and calm sensitivity.
The gold in the name is no misnomer or marketing hype: the element is found in the Essence, sourced in partnership with the Swiss Better Gold Association, which supports artisanal miners who pan for gold with minimal ecological impact.
La Prairie recommends using it as the first step after cleansing and toning, and pairing it with the Pure Gold Radiance Cream.
The glass flaçon is recyclable.
It will be available at US$530 for 130 ml from laprairie.com.
