At CPHs
trend show it was evident how strong Danish design has become. The
low-key presentation with light and easy styling let the clothes
speak for themselves in this fairs fashion themes: Berlin,
Hip Hop and Glamour. Of the mens labels,
Mads Nørgaards silver leather trousers were especially
terrific as were whitewineblack-checked jackets from
Gentlemen Take Polaroids by the highly talented Lise Nyborg Andersen.
Also Hummel, the sports label that dresses the Danish football team,
came up with colourful, fun and wearable clothes designs.
In the womens section simple, strong, feminine
and sexy shapes were perfectly executed by Line Mo in a great, embroidered
military coat. So were mixes of knit, embroidery and tweed by Lundgreen
and Vindinge, and white suits with multi-coloured seams by Re-mix.
Naja Laufs orangeyellow psychedelic chiffon, Issues
lovely rosepinkwhite bouclé jacket, Cashs
perfectly tailor-made checked coat and Sofie Schnoors crème
tweed were fine examples of fashions new elegance.
Two fur designers, Caan and Utzon, both showed
wonderful sheepskin, gold-coated on the raw side. Great Greenland,
who embroidered tops and skirts with crystal on the silver-coated
raw side of seals, showed us a great, new use of the Greenlanders
original, natural source of food, clothing and income.
