Lucire fall-winter 2004

Bitte Kai Rand continues to rejuvenate her style. Wide pants, short wrap skirts, creased-knit sweaters, long riding jackets, tartan suits, and parkas and anoraks in silver foil or patinated gold sheepskin are bound to be hits. Ivan Grundahl’s power clothes to women with attitude sweep in extravagant lines in asymmetrical narrow jackets, long coats and handkerchief skirts. Zips, chains, pockets and ruffles adorn trousers and skirts, and leopard print, shocking pink and fantastic multicoloured checks deliver extra pang to the designer’s typical sumptuousness.
At City Hall, supermodels like Nadja Auermann promenaded Sand’s flawless, new raw-classic style. The Danish brand, the country’s seventh-largest clothes’ company, presented beautifully worked, sensual and usable everyday luxury. The perfect work-into-night solutions were asymmetrical short skirts and dresses, in grey, black and white tones, with flashes of red and leather details.
Summer colours will shine next winter. We saw turquoise, mint, jade, powder, coral, pink and lilac, most boldly shown at Bruuns Bazaar’s colourful and fine collection with bat-wing-sleeved blouses, short wrap satin skirts and dancing handkerchief skirts in layers. Jackets shining with a golden seam in the back are elegantly tailor-made, looking like the always-splendid Bruuns Bazaar men’s collections, which appear next season in more subdued colours.
Day also designs great men’s clothes, casual and easygoing, with lots of black, blue and navy. Day’s noble ladies’ suits hit fashion’s new elegance. With pleated or gusseted skirts, dresses in empire lines were emphasized by velvet trimmings and lightly embroidered in silver and black jet pearls: delightful, flattering and usable.
’Twenties’ styles, empire and A-lines suited the showgirls at Noa Noa’s Cabaret. They danced in pretty kimono wrap dresses, powder coloured with a layer of mint green tulle, an unusual and new effect. Moss green velour featured turquoise trim and Noa Noa’s specialty, feather-light sparkles and embroidery, underlined the special look—the Danish way. •
