Day 3
Mon Petit Oiseau
THIS COLLECTION is the greatest to
wake up to, especially when you find a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts
under your seat. The clothing is a breath of fresh air, featuring
simple feminine clothes, with nothing to prove and no message to
send, except one from Amnesty International.
The theme was old family summer vacations in the
USA—a national memory and reality
for some still today. It was of a simpler life, complete with hot
dogs and lemonade. All those warm fuzzy feelings come streaming
back, represented by pretty florals and whimsical patterns. Elements
of the late-’50s–early-’60s were evident in this collection full
of empire waits, simple tanks and skirts and men’s ties as belts,
a new little trend that seems to be buzzing about. The green Thai
tea and blue Japanese floral anniversary skirts were simply adorable,
and the striped Broadway top and blue construction skirt had cute
and fun piping. This collection is fun, innocent and a joy to just
be around. What a great way to get up in the morning.
