   Bendon is calling 2001 a ‘summer of love’ but it’s more about a growing thirty-something market. Elle Macpherson Intimates’ general manager Kay Cohen says the range reflects Macpherson’s own personality: ‘a gorgeous but real woman in tune with the moods, sensualities and practicalities of all a woman wants to be,’ reads the release.
   ‘Elle knows what women want,’ says Cohen. ‘A businesswoman and mother herself, she is also a supermodel who has thrown off the constraints of age and shown us what it means to be a sensuous woman, at any age.’
   The range is the perfect example of the-person-as-a-brand: Elle is known throughout the world (hence Bendon’s initial pursuit in 1990) and as time has passed, the items and the model have become more intertwined.
