FASHION We feature some late summer (or winter, depending on where you are) débuts, with calm shades and statement jewellery on trend
Soft for summer
Releasing in August 2021 in New Zealand, Caroline Sills’ summer collection uses some lightweight fabrics while keeping the looks rich and sophisticated. Taking the top photo, the Stencil shirt, in its Noten silk print, has a cotton–silk blend (70–30), while the Antonia pant, with Twillita suiting, is comfortable with rayon and polyester. Watch out for them at www.sillsandco.com.
Dancing inspiration
At Van Cleef & Arpels, newly released is its Bouton d’or Ballerina clip, using the paillette motif that first appeared in 1936. Each rounded pastille, in gold, turquoise and lapis lazuli, is reworked by hand by Van Cleef & Arpels’ craftspeople, and they are interspersed with diamonds on the figurine’s costume and headdress. The stones have all been carefully selected to have even, intense shades, and were matched for colour. Diamonds are D, E or F for colour, and IF or VVS for clarity.
Unpredictable

Proenza Jewellery (www.proenzajewellery.com) creates many one-offs by hand from its workshop in Andalucia, Spain, by a team of craftswomen. The creators take an eclectic approach to each piece, taking a uniquely coloured and shaped stone and a gold-plated setting, and building their design around the materials. Oversized earrings, chunky necklaces, stackable rings, Proenza aims to create impact while eschewing trends. They are also keenly priced.
Colours of nature
With the summer weather still with is, Toscana’s Haimēwy Project has its 100 per cent cotton fleece fabric oversized sweatshirts, available in either a tie-dye or vintage wash look. They come in four colours: Quiet Green, Sand Dust, Squeezed Mango, and Wisteria. They are made in Italy, and available from www.haimewy.it/en/. •
