Thomas Salme returns from shooting at Miss Teenager Universe in Guatemala, a trip that makes him optimistic about the future

After two weeks being home from Guatemala and the Miss Teenager Universe final, I must say I am filled with hope for a great future that today’s teenagers will bring.

Not only did I see the beauty from many countries and continents, but I also met teenagers who where looking to their future with energy and brightness.

As they say, beauty comes from within, and, that made this an event to remember. Thirty-six contestants from five continents—and I was there for Miss Sweden Frida Fornander and shooting photos of her.

The ages ranged from 14 to 19 and, together with either mother and father or agents, we were among the 160 in the hotel, only for this event.

We visited the Pacific coastline in Guatemala and the Parliament, as well as many of the wonderful locals. As a photographer there is always great interest to meet upcoming models who might become top models sometime somewhere.

As I am a photographer and not a writer, I am letting my photos speak at left. I was not able to shoot photos of everyone but here are some of them. •
