Cuisine should be a celebration and an enchanting encounter. For the most intense, delightful and exquisite experience, Gabriel Kreuther’s (www.gknyc.com) majestic restaurant in the heart of New York City, right across the street from Bryant Park, is unquestionably a celebratory escapade. Chef Gabriel pays close attention to detail and approaches each plate with particular attentiveness and a sublime meticulous touch. Notably, the cuisine has the hallmarks of the chef's Franco–Swiss–German inspiration.

As a member of the distinguished Les Grandes Tables du Monde as well as the reputable Relais et Châteaux, Gabriel Kreuther combines the epitome of elegance along with the utmost culinary sophistication. The full experience is a step back into old New York, with a dash of European flair, as a hospitable team provides each individual their undivided attention to ensure an adventure like no other. The lavish and spacious setting is a welcoming atmosphere, with elegance and glamour resonating throughout. The gourmet quest, reflected by satisfyingly appetizing dishes, is a treat for both the eyes and mouth.

Start your decadent experience with Chef Gabriel’s much applauded savoury kougelhopf. The Alsatian classic is inviting and palatable, served with a mouth-watering chive fromage blanc. The kougelhopf makes the traditional bread and butter option at the start of the meal seem too drab and boring.

For a total symphony of taste, the hen of the woods mushroom tarte flambée is a delightful experience with a taste of delicate mushrooms, comté cheese and a dab of nutmeg. Delve into the complete culinary adventure by trying the foie gras terrine, the subtle flavours making one appreciate each delicate bite. For foie gras lovers intent on a new taste, opt for the cooked version, with its silky and succulent texture, sure to lure the culinary adventurer. Whether meat lovers, vegetarian or pescatarian guests should brace themselves for a greatly appreciated culinary ride. The restaurant also has a bar with a substantial drink list offering options that beautifully accompany each plate for an even more appetizing aftertaste.

Chef Kreuther’s sweet selection is just as decadent. Opt for the pineapple carpaccio with a fragile matcha biscuit, refreshing pineapple and a delicate touch of mint granita. For a much simpler option, enjoy a selection of petits fours that include freshly made macarons, fruity bonbons, as well as profoundly rich and freshly made chocolate choices.

For guests who simply cannot get enough of the chocolate decadence Kreuther has to offer, a slew of diligently hand-crafted chocolates are available for purchase online. Chef Gabriel collaborated with pastry chef Marc Aumont to create what is known as Kreuther Handcrafted Chocolate (kreutherchocolate.com), which provides a small taste of chocolate heaven with a flavoursome pleasure in each bite.

Gabriel Kreuther is renowned for haute cuisine in the midst of a distinguished environment. He shares his culinary talents and precise cooking techniques in his upcoming book, which will be released in November 2021. Gabriel Kreuther: the Spirit of Alsace, a Cookbook is currently available for pre-order.

You have not truly enjoyed the charm of New York if you have not been to Gabriel Kreuther. •
