Budapest-based designer Dora Abodi is injecting some very welcome colour for her autumn–winter 2011–12 collection, inspired by seventeenth-century Paris and its ‘finesse, sophistication and decadence.’ Her second inspiration in her autumn collection, The Velvet of the Shepherd, is the Transylvanian shepherds working in the Carpathian mountains.
Her latest collection tells a story of a spoiled young countess living in a dark, isolated castle, and a shepherd who falls in love with her.
The handbags mix lace, leather, faux fur, velvet, tulle and knitted materials, while Abodi’s colour palette ranges from the deep blacks and greys we have seen so much of this season to deep green, coral red and navy blue, to a far brighter red. To convey the aristocratic mood, gold and silver complete the palette.
Dora Abodi’s showroom is located at u. 9 on the very popular Ráday Street in Budapest.
