Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has issued a press release on what odds two designers are getting as Kate Middleton’s choice for her Royal Wedding gown.
Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen and long tipped by many in the fashion media as the chosen designer, is the favourite with odds of 1/25.
The McQueen company has so far denied the reports, both through its CEO Jonathan Akeroyd and Burton herself.
One-time favourite Bruce Oldfield, whose studio has seen visits from Miss Middleton and her mother, has slipped to 4/1.
Any other designer has odds of 10/1.
The company’s spokeswoman, Sharon McHugh, has said that the last time there was such secrecy among its bets was with the 2005 papal election.
