Reports are claiming that Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, will design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.
ITN claims that Burton won the commission after numerous high-profile designs for US First Lady Michelle Obama and Sara Buys, journalist and wife of Tom Parker-Bowles, son of the Duchess of Cornwall.
The McQueen company has so far denied the reports, both through its CEO Jonathan Akeroyd and Burton herself.
A St James’s Palace aide told the Daily Express that most of the staff still do not know, as Middleton wishes to keep the designer’s identity a secret.
The Royal Wedding of Miss Middleton to HRH Prince William is due to take place on April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
