The BMW Z4 came across as a far more butch sports car than the prissy Z3 that came before it, helped in no small part by the series of BMW Films starring Clive Owen. At the Detroit Auto Show, BMW reveals an all-new Z4 that’s longer and wider, with longer doors allowing for easier access, and a folding hardtop. Now with more confusing names (it’s still Z4, but the models are sDrive30i and sDrive35i), we’re particularly excited by the 3·5-litre model that features twin turbochargers and 300 hp. (We’ve tested the 135i with twin turbos and adore this powerplant.) Below, see how BMW has evolved the Z4: it still looks great and the kidney grille’s probably the widest the München company has ever created.
