It’s not every day you see photography of this calibre in a catalogue. The label is Dogstar, the work of Masayo Yasuki and her team.
What’s fascinating with the Laika range—named for the first mammal in space—is the collaboration with visual artist Paolo Milani, inspired by the work of Dr Masaru Emoto.
Even if you haven’t heard of Dr Emoto, you may know his work. He was the man who took close-up photos of water crystals and showed how they differed depending on what the water had been through (such as pollution, or a prayer).
‘Water crystals that have been exposed to the energies of love, hope and gratitude bear and uncanny resemblance to mandalas from various cultures throughout the world,’ Masayo says.
The range is available in Dogstar’s three Brisbane stores and 75 stockists throughout Australia and New Zealand.
A second summer collection (below) is a collaboration with Brisbane poet Laura Skerlj. A unique poem is screen-printed across elements of that collection.
