Christchurch earthquake: Skylight offers grief and trauma support

News

February 23, 2011/3.33

We’ve already placed Red Cross ads on our website to replace many of our commercial ones during our national emergency, and I am sure many of us are donating already to the victims of the 22-2 Christchurch earthquake.
   For the last few years, you’ll have seen Skylight ads appear on this website as well. Skylight offers support to those suffering trauma and grief from the earthquake and its aftershocks, to people of all ages. We’ve upped the frequency of these ads running in the 300 by 250 spaces on this website to help remind readers that these services are available.
   Skylight is a registered non-profit trust in New Zealand.
   The website offers information and support resources, or you can call (0800) 299-100.
   We have been sent two information sheets for those who require it, available for download on this site:

  • When You’re Grieving;
  • When Staff Are Grieving: Information for Employers and Managers.
  •    Skylight has said it will prioritize any bereavement or disaster or trauma support resources.
       It has previously worked with disaster recovery after the Victoria bushfires, the Queensland floods, and the September 4 ’quake in Christchurch.
       Our earlier page with earthquake resources and phone numbers can be found here.
