Christchurch, New Zealand jeweller and extreme adventurer Holly Budge will launch on October 21 a collection inspired by the September 4 earthquake that struck her city, called the 7.1 collection.
The collection is named after the scale of the tremor that literally shook Christchurch and the Canterbury region last month.
A portion of the proceeds—7·1 per cent—will go to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
‘My 7.1 collection has been inspired by the earthquake. I was so lucky to endure this force of nature with such little personal damage. But I know so many other people, businesses and families who have lost so much,’ she says in a release from Word of Mouth NZ.
The collection features semi-precious gemstones juxtaposed with raw stones representing change, and hand-crafted sterling silver interlinked chains symbolizing community spirit and strength.
